Katie awoke in a wet and messy diaper still curled in "mommy's" arms. It took her a minute to remember where she was and why she had a pacifier in her mouth, but it was kind of comfortable and she snuggled into the older woman's arms. Laurie's mother noticed that she was awake and gently stroked her hair. "Wake up, sleepy head. Has Katie had a good nap?" she said, then wrinkled her nose, "It smells like the baby needs her di-dee changed." Katie just nodded and Laurie's mom helped her up and helped her get to Lauries room and got her up on the change table. She untaped Katie's diaper and cleaned her up, slipping a new one underneath her and taping that on. Katie had to admit, this was actually kind of fun. It was nice being taken care of. She yawned a little as Laurie toddled into the room. "Mommy," said Laurie, "I need my diaper changed." Her mother smiled at her, got Katie off of the change table and sat her down on the floor. She crossed the room to Laurie, helped the girl get all her clothes off, and laid her on the change table. Laurie acted as if this was something she didn't want to do but was nessecary. This was a bit fun, acting like a young child but not a baby. When Laurie was changed and clean, her mother announced that it was time for dinner. She got Laurie dressed again and led the two girls to the table. Katie was put into a high chair (an adult sized one, she was amazed that they made them that big) and had to wear a bib (yet another adult sized one) while Laurie got to sit in a normal chair, still had to wear a bib, and had a sippy cup to drink from. Laurie's mother left the two girls alone for a few minutes while she went off and microwaved some soup for Laurie and herself and got some baby food and a bottle for Katie. When she returned she put Laurie's soup, tomato, into a cup with a straw in it and put hers in a bowl. Katie's baby food went into a plastic plate and Laurie's mother sat beside her and began to spoon food into Katie's mouth. It turned out to be messier than it looked and soon Katie had a good portion of food all over her bib. When dinner was done Laurie's mom cleaned Katie up and helped Laurie clean herself up. Then, since the sun was still out, she brought Katie and Laurie out to the swingset and sandbox in the backyard. THe swingset had a bunch of baby swings, only they were sized so that teenagers and adults could fit into them. She set Laurie up playing in the sandbox and then got Katie into one of the swings and started pusing her. Katie clapped her hands with glee and smiled. She could see that Laurie was having fun to and she was finding this whole experience to be fun. She had to admit that she was starting to really and completley enjoy being a baby. And that was about when she loudly messed and wet her diaper, filling it to the point where it actually leaked a little. A few seconds later she began to cry, tears streaming down her face. Laurie's mom stopped the swing and helped her out. "What's wrong, honey?" she asked. "Mommy! Me...wet an mess didee!" Katie said, crying. Laurie's mother nodded, smelling it now. She looked to Laurie. "Laurie, honey, are you okay playing in the sand by yourself" she asked. Laurie nodded and smiles, "Yes, mommy. I'm ok." "You don't need your diaper changed do you?" "No, mommy." Laurie replied. Her mother nodded and left her in the sandbox while she and walked into the house with Katie crawling along behind her. Once they got into Laurie's room she got Katie up on the change table and changed her into a fresh diaper. After doing this she took Katie outside to play some more, this time in the sand box with Laurie. The two girls giggled and built sand castles for a while until Laurie's mom called them in for bed. Katie and Laurie were taken to the bathroom where Laurie's mom brushed both their teeth. After doing this she made sure that Katie's diaper didn't need to be changed, then she got her into the huge adult crib that was normaly Laurie's. The crib itself as a good six feet long, with white sides and a pink bunny-pattern blanket inside. Over it was a mobile of animals and there was a small pillow at one end. Laurie's mom pulled one side down and got Katie up into it. She then turned down the lights, turned on the baby monitor, and gently sang a lullaby to Katie until she fell asleep. Once Katie was asleep, Laurie was changed and dressed in her sleeper. Her mother helped her into bed and then read her a story and sung her gently to sleep. Now that both girls were in bed and asleep, she retired to her own room. Asleep in her crib, Katie slept soundly through the night and awoke the next morning crying.
